Oyster Shoals Music Hall announces upcoming shows

Gloucester Gazette-Journal Posted on January 18, 2023

Oyster Shoals Music Hall in downtown Warsaw announced this week the first half of its 2023 music calendar.

The action kicks off on April 28-29 with WailOn: A Tribute to Waylon, Johnny, Willie and the Outlaws of Country Music. The popular country artists roll into town to perform over two nights. “Each show will be different and special,” promised singer Chris Wisniewski.

A few weeks later, the Oyster Shoals’ second annual Chesapeake Bay Seafood Boil takes place on Saturday, May 13 starting at 5 p.m. with live bluegrass from Bill Jenkins and The Virginia Mountain Boys. Attendees can choose a ticket to the show with or without dinner.

Other events this spring include Americana/Country songwriter Karen Jonas, blues master Anthony Rosano and the return of the King–Elvis Presley as re-enacted by Jeff Krick Jr. and his band who will perform Elvis’ 1968 Comeback Special in its entirety. Tickets are on sale now at www.oystershoals.com.

The partners are passionately music-oriented, so a lot of effort went into designing and tweaking the sound system. Walls are wood-shingled, allowing for the sound to dissipate rather than bounce around the room. “Bands have already told us how clean our sound is,” Taylor says proudly of the superior acoustics. “They say we have something special here.” With shows scheduled every month except January and February, bands are primarily booked from Virginia Beach, Richmond, Charlottesville, D.C. and southwest Virginia and Tennessee, where, Emery says, “The music is pure as a brook trout stream.” Read the entire article here.
